    4-4-2 classic overpowered?

It seems nothing can beat this formation at the moment.

It's the formation that gives everyone a tough time... The butterfly, 4-1-2-1-2 ND and 4-5-1v have been unreliable in countering the 4-4-2. Yes, it works against weaker teams but against evenly matched teams it's not the case.

I've done a lot of testing and observing and 4-4-2 does lose but the results are very random and there is no trend in the formations that can beat it.

I also reckon that depending on HOW you play the 4-4-2, it becomes very hard to beat...As when I've used the 4-4-2, it sucks. So orders does come into play.

Any experiences vs the 4-4-2 that you'd like to share?

i was playing against a weaker team with 4-5-1v. his formation was 4-4-2. in the first 45 minutes the score was 0-2. In the second half i decided to use the same formation. i switched to 4-4-2 and i scored 3 goals(3-2).

    I think so, too.

After I lose two times against 4-4-2 classic last season with my team that was much better then my opponent, I start testing how to beat this formation every day with friendly games. The results from opponent to opponent are totally random. The funny thing is, in every match I have more possession... and 75% of the goals against me come from corners or freekicks.

I didn't found a key against 4-4-2 classic yet, which will be able to win constantly. :S

Hm yes, I will do this in the future when my opponent is lower then my team.
But what is the key against stronger teams or teams with the same quality.

umm.. do you have any experience with 4-3-2-1? Or 4-3-3? i always play with 4-3-3 when my opponent is stronger than me. Μost of the results are D and W.

And always the quality of the teams. Dont add arrows to all of your players. Add red arrows to your flanks and your AMC-DMC if needed. Also you need fast players to the flanks if you are planning to add arrows to the backs and play with offside trap.

I have the same problem. But I viewed a lot of matches in my cup and I tried a lot of things to realize that the new counter-formation of 4-4-2 classic is 4-1-3W-2.Maybe 4-1-3W-1-1 is better. There is one very important rule in the new game engine.1 DMC+1 MC are better than 2 MC's.But I still dont know what orders. When I play with 4-1-3W-2 Im using blue arrows on my DC's and red arrows on my ML and MR.It depends what type of formation he use but sometimes I use red arrows on DL/DR in this formation.I usually use attack from the flanks, but I dont know what is better against 4-4-2 - mixed or flanks.
