This formation is known as a narrow diamond. I'd go with 3-1-4-2 (3xDC/DMC/ML MC MC MR/2 Strikers). Narrow diamond attacks through the middle so the 3 DC + DMC should be enough to defend. I'd attack down both flanks with the ML and MR, but check out his defenders for any weak spots. If his defenders are weaker on one side go for that flank only. If you need to go more offensive you can switch the ML and MR for AML and AMR.

    agree, I play with 3DC+1DMC +3 MC+ AML-AMR-ST
for more attack, like Jeeves, 3-5-2V

For anyone who plays agains a Narrow diamomd, i used a 3 1 3 2 1 (DC DC DC DMC MC MC MC AML AMR ST) and i won against a team with similar quality 2-0 in his home. I played offensive, mixed passes, down the flanks. Good luck!
