well it is true that players on the bench can still get carded, but I was unaware it was possible for it to happen on Top Eleven. I have not seen this previously, but maybe it was just a glitch

What happened there is..You did change the orders, didnt hit save in time.. that's why u'r getting this.
Basiclly the player that was suposed to replace him didnt make it in time and he got 2nd yellow or red w/e.
Basiclly the orders remain as you saved them but your sub didnt get to play, u could have figured out once u saw the gained skills after the match, the guy that replaced him got 0skill progress.
You can see on the screen shot on the left that the player Veljanovski has been subbed, he has RED card next to his name and OFF because he was subbed, also I still have 11 players on the pitch after the sending off. I was only playing with 1 striker (Hampson) I subbed him and replaced him with (Boote) an AMC because I was 2-0 up. The screen shot on the right is the conformation of Veljanovskis suspension. I don't see how not having striker is an illegal formation, Spain played an international match without a striker before the world cup.
It has to be a bug then. As for the illegal formation with no striker thing, just because it happens in real life, does not mean it is okay in Top Eleven. Don't compare real football with Top Eleven football
