Couldn't make substitutions

I was playing the Champions League Final and I was down 1-0. I wanted to make subs, but the game told me I couldn't bc I didn't have a gk. I did have one, but he was somehow registered as a DL. I lost 3-0, and there was nothing I could do other than watch my team collapse.
I have screenshots of it, but I don't know how to upload them. If anyone wants to see them please tell me how.
