I've been getting this error in almost every game since the start of the season: "The was an issue whilst saving your formation".

My player was sent off. I can't re-position my players and can't make any substitution. Not cool.

Hey meis, what platform are you playing on? Mobile or Web browser?

Try resetting your internet connection. If the issue persist then let me know what your Manager ID is. Seems like a data transfer problem and I'd like to see what server you're playing on.

You can find your ID in-game in the Settings menu > Accounts.

Happened to me too, this afternoon.
In my reserves, playing in the Cup
my right MC got a red card, I tried to move my left MC in the center but couldn't.
After the game, I could rearrange the positions normally.
