Playing cup against the 4-2-2-2 Hexagon

hi guys,

im playing a cup match against a slightly superior 4-2-2-2 Hexagon.
So I looked up the table of counter formations and noticed two things. First it doesn't tell me how to motivate my players for a given counter formation and second I'm virtually able to play all mentioned counter formations. This left me at a loss on what to do.

His current team has an average of 28,3, making it only 0,2 better than my team, however given that he has several 2 star players on the bench while my bench consists of at least mid 3 star players his initial fielding will be higher.
his players are
7* / 6* MC's
6* DC; 6* DC/DR
6* AML
5* GK
rest is 4 to 3 Stars.

Made the second picture a bit earlier where Rutten wasn't hurt yet (Stupid training accidents). Note that only Tolisano will heal in time.

Sooo, long post, how shall i play?

I had good results playing with 3-5-2 flat against the hexagon.

3-5-2 seems vulnerable versus the aml/amr?
It also looks like your formation is quite a bit better than your enemys with 3 scouts^^

endet up playing it a bit more defensive with a dmc instead of mc and amc instead of St so I got a 3-1-4-1-1.
Won the match with 0:4 and am happy now :D

Your team must have been stronger or may be i messed up the settings.
