There could well be something in 4 players in the opponents half.
I don't think it's a 80/20 loss but a couple of times I've played 4-3-1-1-1 with the DMR/DML with red arrows in defensive mode and counter.
Possession was down on the normal % with players of the same quality when played in a different formation.

in nether case was I penalized with the 20/80 possession. So ...I don't know what to think ... how can a 5-0-2-0-3 be illegal but a 5-0-0-2-3 is OK?

he got 20% ball possession, from the very first minute to the end of the match, because it's illegal I guess (no wingers at all).
Does anybody know something about out-of-role positions? What if I put a DMC or a DL into the DC position? Is it totally bad?

Do you still have matches in which to experiment? Don't move the players too much, we know in 5-2-3, 2 MCs are illegal, but wide AMs aren't. Next, try wide Ms (ML and MR) or 2 AMCs.Quote:

Sorry, only 1 screen cap, I screwed the others up up somehow.
Second half, trailing 3-2 I moved everyone forward, even tried to move the keeper into attack but it wasn't allowed! Pulled out a draw - experiment or not, clinched or not, I had to at least try for the league win LOL.
Anyway, I'll play a friendly later on, but after all this i think Potemy's 3 midfielders (AM*, M* or DM*) is correct. Now need to confirm if location of the 3 matters.
