Question Best formations to counter 5-2-2(AML/AMR)-1

    Hi to all

Today i have an away match for the CL against a weaker team(2.5 quality difference) and this thread doesn't have the counter for his formation.

I usually play with 4-5-1 v style formation with mixed passing and attacking down both flanks.

Please, can any one help me and give me some suggestions !!!

    Really gratefull for your advice

I would have played 3W-3N-2W-2 since he has only one forward, but a massive defense.
Mentality like at 4-5-1 V-style (mixed passing, down both flanks).

If he gives you trouble trough the center you can set a blue arrow on the central MC.

OK, thank you very much for your advice.

I was thinking in that choice, 3 defenders since he has only one ST and reinforce my attack zone to battle with the 5 defence line and block it.

I have only two ST's but i'll try that choice for the first half. If i doesn't get any result i'll back with my basic formation 4-5-1 v style.

    Thanks a lot

I would use butterfly with defense, short pass & mix

    Thanks Chris Rath and copyshop

I used the 3W-3N-2W-2 formation and won 2-1 in this away match

I had a few mishaps during the game, with this risky tactic, one-to-one happened too often. My problem was that i had to block his best midfielders with my best MC's and my free MC wasn't so good(i have two good MC's injured).

But it worked fine, my 4-5-1 v style would be fruitless for this match.
