how to beat that 4-2-2-1-1?

hello, had my liga game against the first one.. lost 6-2





i also changed after that to 4-1-4-1 but it didnt worked either :/

of course he was stronger than me. his quality was 45.7 and mine 37.5 but such a big loose i didnt expect

do you guys have some tips? what to do better in the future and why is this formation so strong?

i played in the first hald down both flanks but after he shot 4 goals i changed.

What he is doing is playing from the back. He is playing defensive and probably with counter attacks by absorbing your pressure with 6 defenders and then hits you on the counter. What I would do(especially with a stronger player) is fight fire with fire. I would play with a very defensive formation and hit him on the counter. Otherwise you probably have no chance if you attack.
Something like this..

Red arrows on AML and ANR
Blue on both DMC
defensive
flanks
own half
mixxed or long passing
