Well, I never have a match against that particular formation before. You ask for an idea. I give you my idea which is the formation I would prefer if I have the chance to face this formation personally.
The idea behind it is your opponent only have one player in the front, that is why 3 defenders is enough, DR-DC-DL. 1 DMC with up arrow to give an extra cover for the striker and also helps the midfielder to dominate the play. As for attacking I would use up arrow on my ML/MR with down both flanks setting because obviously the center area is too crowded with the 2 DMC. Because the opponent use 3 defenders, then using 2 forwards is the best option. Finally I would wraps everything up with mixed passing.
My IDEA....i would use hexagon but would bring your strongest DC directly in front of his striker and red arrows on your dr and dl. Long passing,normal mentality, if winning at half time switch to attacking,pressing whole pitch,focus passing to be mixed with zonal marking and hard tackling.My thoughts...for what they are worth....Quote:
