4-5-1 V style does not beat 4-4-2 classic any more ??????

Agreed, mate!
As I am a 4-5-1V favourite, it doesn't work any more.
I found 3-2-2-2-1 Butterfly really works for that tricky tactics!

I like 3-1-4-2
Blue on the two outer dcs, blue on the ml/mr
And attack through the middle.
Then later on you can play with the ml/mr arrows if needed and you can play with the middle and mixed passing.

But you do need a decent level team

Just played mine 4-5-1 V against 4-4-2... against the weaker team... damn draw 0:0... and even had a chance to loose in the end... tomorrow again the team against me in cup also with 4-4-2 but better in quality than mine...

Not sire which one to use to counter that... thinking of butterfly...

Just make sure to use a formation with an amc since 442 doesn't have a dmc

I play with 3-4-1-2 but i lost 3-2 . My GK plays bad .

hii my friend.next time you can try this...i used it before and its make me win i played motivated 4-5-1 against 4-4-2 (same quality)..... i used this: 4-5-1 flat formation. arrows: red to dl dr and ml and mr...blue to the 3mc's (but they must be fast players). orders: defensive mentality focus passing down both flanks mixed passing zonal marking hard tackle no offside trap...yes counter attack. in those orders i win thew final champions league 4-0!! i hope i help you

My game today against 442 ended with victory. Used 4-1-2-1-2ND, hard tackling, man on man style. Worked pretty well, but all three goals were scored from set pieces - 2 corners and 1 free kick.

Very nice result, considering game away and better quality of the opponent.
