I know there are many threads for the 4-4-2, but this guy has 7 quality above me.
Till now i've beaten 4-4-2 with ND and 4-5-1V (equal quallity or slightly better), but i'm not sure if it'll work against an opponent that stronger than me.
I think of going ND: defensive,through the middle, own half, hard tackles, long passes, zonal with counter on.
Any tips are welcome.
Long passes? I never use them unless I have big gaps between my guys. Just my opinion, really.
I usually go similar ND v.s. 442 but it's not as effective lately. Against a stronger team I might put 442 out vs. just 'cos. I have also had some good games v. my bane with 4 2Dmc 2Mc 2St. Good luck!
Long cuz of counter, depending on how the match is going i switch counter off and passes to mixed or short.

Lost 3-0. Tried ND and 3N-4-1-2. The goals came from corner, freekick, and 30m shot :D
Guess that's it for this seasons CUP, can't turn that around.

Next time try use 4-1-4-1 normal mixed passing hard tackles mixed playing style with counter on
I've used it 3 times against stronger teams and two of them used 4-4-2 and managed to grab 3 draws so still looking for my win but it's understandable because 4-1-4-1 is a defensive formation even tho a draw is better than nothing :)
