Counter for 4-2-2-2 Hex this season

Hi managers,

I have a match with a slightly stronger (by 3 quality) team. He usually changes his formation but have observed him using the Hex a lot. He's at the top of the league, with just one match lost (using another formation).

Any advice against 4-2-2-2 Hex? I usually do 4-4-2/4-1-2-1-2 ND on my matches. I do notice ND is not a proper formation against HEX. I'm thinking either butterfly 3-2w- 2-1-2/2-2w-1, or 3n-1-4-2 (i've lost with hex to this formation before) with motivated wingers. Any advice? Thanks in advance

Note: base on his history, these formations dont seem to work:
3W-2N-2W-1-2
4-1-3W-1-1
3N-1-3N-1-2
4-1-2-1-2ND
4-4-2 Classic
4-2N-3W-1
4-3N-1-2
4-3N-3

Note 2:
Ive seen thr formation table as well, 4-5-1V dont seem to work (according to one thread), and defending with solely 3 DC just doesnt seem right against a Hex

Lost 1-0 to oponent with 3N-2W-3N-2 (changed to 3N-2W-2N-1-2 when he jnjured my MC). He change his formation midway to 4-1MC-3W-2, watching the home match with supporter (2nd place guy, im at 3rd, probably didnt want me to climb above him), so thats additional 17% possesion for him.

I think its personal luck, i tried 4-2-2-2 Hex and lost to ND (5 quality) lower, yup its a ****ty system, not even a troll. Dont think certain formation works for everyone. On my defence the 4-2-2-2 in my first post beat that ND 4-0.

You should try total football. I think it's the best counter for any 4-4-2 formations. I also use this formation everytime i'm facing weird formations. http://forum.topeleven.com/formation...-football.html :D

It's only good when ur opponent weaker than you...last season..when fought at CL and championship...I used twice and lost both..luckily I come back to 4-4-2 c head to head and won on goal differences...at level 4, I was same 45 points with the 2nd place just won the championship on goal differences only...

4-3-3 N with 3 red arrows on 3 MC, attacking through middle (arrows on 3STs are optional if you want more extra punches), mixed passing, own half will counter 4222 hex

Thanks guys. Although 4-3N-3 is in the list that particular opponent's formation had won over, from memory, i do believe the result of that match lost by 4-3N-3 was 1-0, so it's still a close call, will give it a try in the future.

U should use perfect formation with perfect tactics. Use next time 4-3n-1-2. Defensive with counter attack, through middle.
