Weird 4-
Hey guys
I didnt read every topic in this section so i don't know if there is anyone else struggling to win against an opponent using a formation like this one :
Attachment 23144
i lost 3-1, he was playing at home
As you can see, we have more or less the same statistics.
At 2-1, i switched to 4-2n-2w-2 but he managed to score again)
-offensive
-mixed
-own half
-mixed
-zonal marking
-forced counter
Red arrows on AML/AMR, and on DL/DR
I think playing forced counter and putting red arrows on DL/DR were my mistakes
PS : He used the same formation against a 4-5-1 flat. He won 3-0 (also playing home)
PS 2 : sorry for the title, i hit enter too early ...
I meant to say "weird 4-4-2"

You should never play counter with an attacking mentality. Which team is better? My initial thoughts are similar to what you did, but you want to attack down his flank with the attacking midfielder, and if you are playing attacking then no counter. I'd also go hard tackling to get a lot of possession. If he is better than you then go defensive with counter. And yeah, don't put arrows on your DL/R.

thank you for your quick response :)
My team has (insignificant) better quality. (also, i was present during the game, he wasnt)
"you want to attack down his flank with the attacking midfielder"
Should i put a red arrow on one of my mc?
Also, my mc always have low rating (5-6) in every game even if they manage to score...
Should i keep my 4-5-1 V formation ?
Edit : i checked this guy's profile. He has 5 consecutive victories and finished first on last league)

I'd leave him without an arrow - if you find you need goals, take a defender off and put an extra striker on, and or put red arrows on your striker. if you get enough goals then take off your DMC and put on another defender / move him back to a DC position if he can also play there.

Okay, thank you
I will post the result here :)
