I went against that same formation in a cup tie. His team was stronger, so I used a 3n-1-4-2 in the first match. That game ended in a draw. Then the second match I started off with the same counter formation I used before, but with arrows on ml and mr positions. The first half was tied. The second half I switched to a 3n-4-1-2 and wound up knocking in a goal and winning the game 0-1.

That looks like it's crying out for 3N-5-2 V-style. If you go attacking mentality then you want mixed passing focussed down both flanks, zonal marking, normal or hard tackling, own half pressing, and no counter or offside. If you go defensive mentality then exactly the same, but with counter on.
