Need to beat a better player who uses 4:1:3:2 wide mid formation

I use a 4:3:1:2 narrow formation, my mistake is i dont have any wide mids only center players

His average quality is 20 mine is 17,7 which i dont understand u havent seen anyone in second league above 18 and he even started 10 days after me and somehow managed to accumulate a full roster of 5 and 4 star players, maybe $ ? Anyway your advice would be greatly appreciated
