So I'm curious how to beat this 4-2-3-1....I was thinking of running 4-1-2-1-2 wide diamond or narrow diamond as they seem to be like the best ways to go or even possibly 4-5-1 V....opinions?

not sure how that would work against this, I'm just going to run 4-5-1 V formation...googled counter attack for this and found a old thread and 4-5-1 worked so I'm going to give it a go...if it doesn't work I might run narrow diamond 2nd leg ... will post results though after the match is overQuote:

i would say: 4-5-1 V-style! Down both flanks, hard tackling mixed passing, zonal (offside)! Mental attacking! Red arow on MC's AMR/AML and ST! Blue arrow on DC's and DMC! If you losing i would switch the DMC into another Striker ...... Good Luck!
Wow so I ended up falling asleep like half hour before my match but thankfully he didnt attend his either so yeah...ended up winning 1-0

Gonna stay with this formation for now as I'm better rated than him, but he most likely going to switch to narrow diamond and see how I do wit that in the 2nd leg.

never use an attacking mental
just like the first match

@Ħăý Ķêł accidently put he, meant I was going to switch to ND and see how I do, cause my teams fairly better than his so I'm not satisfied with the 1-0 win.

I've had success with the 4-4D-2 against this formation (DMC, ML-MR, AMC), and I was also slightly better rated. See my post about my win. :)
Ugh wish I saw this earlier.....just lost 3-1, cant believe it...also he injured my best striker and didn't get a card. I don't know how I lost by so much..we both ran the same formations and everything he ended up switching to 3 MCs cause hes AML got injured but I thought this was gonna end him but nope ended up scoring another goal and just made me pissed.Quote:
