Cup preliminary: 3W-2-1-2W-2

Hi everyone,

I faced this formation today and would like some input for the second leg. (Leg 1 Result: 4-4 Away)

----DMC----DMC----
--------MC--------
AML------------AMR
----ST------ST----

In the first leg I used 4-1-2-1-2, narrow diamond with red arrows on AMC & DMC. Attacking, Through the Middle, Whole Pitch, Hard, Long? (might have been mixed, not sure), Zonal, Off, Off.

His team is rated "44.2" and mine is now "42.6". Unless someone has a better idea I'm planning on running the same formation with slightly different tactics since I will be at home.

Why not try 4-3N-3

Normal, Middle, Own Half, Normal, Mixed, Zonal, Off, Off

I have two STs and two MCs. Thinking a 4-1-4-1 would serve alright actually, would give both MCs license to go forward at least.

I will advise you to use the same tactics as cup games are very unpredictable.
But if you need a change, he is obviously coming at you from the wings.
Here is my recommendation
1 - Move your DR to DMR (your DML Is injured so just leave it like that)
2 - Don't use the AMC as he has 2 DMs, your AMC can play on the right, move him there.
3 - You don't need your DM, I suggest you use your AML and then blue arrow one of your MCs
4 - Put red arrows on your AMs and STs.
5 - TACTICS - Attack down both wings, Own half, hard (or whatever u like) mixed passing and off, off.

I wish you best of luck. You need it as it's a miracle your 1st leg is 4-4 with your last formation.
Remember, Cup games are really unpredictable.

Yes, classic 4-4-2 may also works but your Full backs won't stop his AMs except the game engines has just destined you to win.
Classic 4-4-2 is too vulnerable.

I had forgotten about that. I tend to think clearer when it's not my own team I'm talking about.

Thinking I'll go with 4-1-4-1 for the same reason I suggested 4-3W-2-1 on your thread.
