Unfortunately, you'll probably need to buy several players to beat him. The situation would be more manageable at higher levels, as you can put together a five star starting lineup w/o buying tokens, but level 2 managers just don't have the income flow to acquire that volume of players (exception of a very deep cup run at level 1 perhaps).

4-1-3n-2 isn't a bad idea, defend/counter-attack, through the middle with long passing. He should have problems with the 2 strikers and you'll lock-up his midfield. In your case though, I don't think you can afford to not play Esqueda, so the flanks are probably a must w/o a massive roster overhaul.

If he switches out the AMC for his 2nd striker, switching from 3w-1-2n-3w-1 to 3w-5-2 v-style; your current formation (4-4-2 classic) is your counter.

Make sure to keep players at max condition and suberp morale (if you have the resources and really want to win i'd top it off too) with max win bonus.

is 4-2n-3w-1 disadvantageous against this tactic? I wonder if the second guy lost just because of his much-low rating or because of this formation? Cause he gave pretty nice challenge at home, but fell badly at away. Also which positions do u think i need the scout reinforcements?

how should i have the arrows on those? thats true this seems to be using the best out of the roster at hand, but is it as effective as the defensive formations above?

Still I can bring in three scouts, I am not sure about positions yet. I am not very keen on it, but i don't wanna give him the title in silver plate. He should learn he cant pave his way with money in everything
