How to counter 2DC-DMR/DML-3W-1-2?

Hi guys!

I lost the first cup-game by 2-1. The guy i played against used this formation:

Since theres nothing called "illegal formations" anymore (only 2 defenders), i really dont know how to do.

I played the 4-4-2 narrow diamond, but was unsuccesful. Im not that good to counter my opponents, but its seems logical, that i somehow should exploit the lack of a DMC, by playing with a AMC, and that he'll probably is using attack down both flanks.

Have you ever faced this formation and what would you might suggest i do?

4-4-2 is the way I would handle this.
