I have an important match vs a team that's a bit stronger than mine. He's playing 4-4-1-1 and i'm thinking of going either 3w-1-4w-2 but his striker is super strong so i think 2 people are gonna be needed to stop him.

I have searched the forum before for a counter for 4411 and the suggested counter worked for me.
3n-3-2mc-1-1, normal mentality, focus through the middle, mixed passing,low pressing and zonal.
Teams of nearly equal quality, i was at home and won 3-1

I don't like 3W in the backfield ANYTIME. Why guard the sideline? You know where the opponent wants to go. Cover the goal. Against a strong AMC/ST combo, I'd go 3N-1(DMC). If you commit too many to the back, you may keep ANYONE from scoring including yourself.
I'm just a newb, but I'd try 3N-1-4-1-1. You might win the possession battle with 6 midfielders to his 5, keeping the ball away from the dangerous striker as much as possible.

If your uncomfortable using with using your 4* ML and MR, then i'd go 4-1-3n-2. normal/through the middle/own half/mixed/hard/zonal - no counter/no offsides or defensive/through the middle/own half/mixed or long/hard/zonal - force counters/no offsides.
