I'm thinking in counter this with a solid 4-5-1 flat with arrows in the ML, MR and DR, DL. We're of approximately the same strength, both disputing the top place in the league.
Has anyone else played against this tactics? What is your insight?
I would suggest 352 flat or 3142. You can use both 3W and 3N defences. Focus passing through wings and put pressing on whole pitch.

I wasn't able to see your post before the game so I sticked to a 4-5-1 flat as I said above. Crushed my opponent in posession (61-39), in shots to target (9-0) and even free-kicks (5-0). I have a FK SA but the result was 0-0...
Man of the match was his GK with a 10. I guess my tactics were alright, simply it wasn't my day.

Yes, but 343 isn't that effecitve due weaker middle (2MC against 3MC+2DMC).
