Too many times I see threads where the illegal formation wins.
You still have to find the best counter to take advantage of the possession.
In his case I would have tried a 3-1-3-0-3
--------ST--ST--ST-------
---------------------------
----ML-----MC-----MR-------
-----------DMC------------
-------DC--DC---DC-------
This counters his offensive formation and takes advantage of his illegal defense.
We cant just say "ïllegal formation" and think of an automatic win. There are still players on the field that can stop your team.
I would have thought that a simple motivated 4-4-2 would have taken care of this as well but I think my solution goes one step further.
BTW, what formation did he go with in the end?
