Why are you playing mixed passes if all your players are in the center of the pitch?

Why are you playing 4 then 3 in midfield when your opponent has 3 in midfield as well, and also 3 strikers. Let's imagine for a second the game on the pitch.... ANY counter attack for him will result in at least 5 of his players (3 ST and at least 2 MC) against your backline which is 4 players, and I doubt the fullbacks will join the defense, more than that you added "man to man", so now 2 of your DC are man marking 2 of his ST, and now he has a ST and at least 2 MC with no marking, I can't tell I am amazed he won to be honest, specially you seem to have weak forwards as they wasted a lot of goals while his forwards finished the job. so I would say always think about defense first, and the attack, in that game you needed a DM badly, he would have been your key player, and even then you could apply the man to man, because he will then drop to play as a third DC, to mark the 3rd ST. hope this helps
