Need advice against 3-5-2

Hello Guys,

I need some advice. Today i had a CL match against a team playing 3-5-2:

I was playing 3-1-2-1-3 (red arrows on DL, DR, AMC)

My orders was:

Attacking
Through The Middle
Short
Counter-attacks: ON
Pressing: High
Tackling: Normal
Marking: Zonal
Offside: OFF

The match was away and i had +13% possession bonus but suprisingly (?) i lost 2-3! My team is much stronger than his (31.4 against 24.9). The second leg will be tomorrow. Can you please suggest me a useful tactic/orders/narrows against this formation? In the previous round there was no problem to beat a team similar like mine (30.7). I've read that 4-5-1 would be useful. Should i go ahead with that? Or simply enough to change my tactics?

Put blue arrow to DMC and don't take 3 strikers use 4 defenders instead.
Or you can take 4 defenders and 2 wings for balancing enemy wings as I showed below.
Its your choice what to do.

Hey friend, I wouldn't be too surprised you lost, the guy dominated the midfield with 5 players, I would suggest you go with 4-3MC-2wingers-1, with blue arrow on the middle MC and the 4 in backline, and red arrows on the rest, high pressure attacking mentality mixed pass down the flanks, counter and offside on, zonal marking

if you have nice aml,amr do this;

You can take amr,aml,ml,mr all in one formation it will be wrong balance so better keep on changing these pairs if you like.

go with the second one 4-3-2AML/R-1, for nothing but to give yourself more options to attack, if you go with the first one you only will be attacking through the middle, but with wingers you will be attacking middle and flanks, this will open his defense wider

The only problem i don't have any DML/DMC/DML. So for now i would try this format:

Would it be enough for midfield? If you feel it'd work can you give me some tactics/arrows advice?

since you mentioned your team is much better than his, all backline blue arrows, 1 mc in the middle with blue arrow, the rest 5 red arrows, and high pressure, short pass down flanks, attacking with offside trap and enable counter because he will attack from time to time

and by the way you should consider buying a dmc, very important position, and if you had one I'd recommend changing the formation to 4-5-1V after you score two goals or more just to prevent him from scoring any goals that might affect aggregation

And today i will have a match against a weaker team (21.1) who plays 4-1-2-1-2 (same as my original formation). Do you think i can test my new formation against his team? Or should i go ahead with my normal one?

yeah definitely use it against that team and use man marking, you will destroy him

Red arrow on DL, DR and DMC. Normal mentality, mixed passing, down both flanks, zonal, high pressure and normal tackling. I signed a very good DMC last evening who scored the first goal! And he played quite well. The final score was 3-0.
