Help against stronger 4-3-1(AMR)-2

I am playing in CL semifinal against this opponenet that plays the 4-3(no MR)-1(AMR)-2. He is a little stronger. He has 17-2-0 with +59 diff in the league and undefeated in CL. My first game is at home. How to counter him and make his first loss? Any help would be appreciated with formation orders.

use a counter to his positions (but if you have a better AMC than AML, use him).
defense/counter/flanks/zonal/low pres. maybe long pass

I will not support a long pass though, you need to make sure you don't give out possession easily considering the fact that he has a better team. If you lose the ball anyhow you might be punished.

His team is 4-MC-MC-ML-AMR-2 . Well he seems to be undefeated this season. He is slightly stronger .. The diff is not great , he is not favorite. I have a good AMC/AMR and AML/ML

ok, then you need a DL too.
So, go for a 4-5-1 V.

as I said, "maybe". It's a risk. Can give some advantage if oppo hasn't DM position.
A hint about this : You can start with long pass and if assistant gives an advice to switch to short pass (because you cannot pass the ball), set pass to mix.

Lost 0-3 .. I had more shots and possesion but still he won so bad ... I changed to 3-2-3-1 after the 60th min and the game was more balanced

Oh well CL is over this year ... Interesting how he managed to come up with such a strong team .. Undefeated this season .. And we were the same quality level

it looks the formation worked but his players won the battles.
Maybe with this asymmetrical formation he found the right chemistry
