Hi everyone,
Lets discuss some top rated formations of all time. We will discuss TOP 3 formations all time formation and vice versa:)

NO 1.> 4-5-1 V-Style

It has been no 1 till now, It has greatly used in game by managers. The main key of this formation is defensive counter attacks.

Formation type-Defensive counter attacking.
Formation success rate-90% and above.
Formation results-Best is defeating(3N-1-3W-1-2,3N-1-3W-2(AMC)-1,3N-1-4-2,3W-1-3N-1-2,4-2-1-3 and any 3-4-3 formations)
Best results-Defensive mentality with counter attacks on.
Drawbacks-These formations(3N-2(DML/DMR)-3N-2, 4-3N-3 and 4-4-2)

NO 2.> 4-4-2 classic

It is most popular after 4-5-1V because it has great control over defense as well as attacks. In simple words you can say that it binds gap between defense and attack.

Formation type-Flexible(defense+attack)
Formation success rate-85% and above.
Formation results-Best in defeating(3N-2-2-2-1 Butterfly,3N-4-3,3W-2N-2N-2W-1,4-2(DMC)-1-2(AML/AMR)-1,5-4-1,5-3N-2 as well as 4-5-1V and any 5-3-2
Best results-Attacking and counter attacks on.
Drawbacks-These formations(3N-4-1-2, 4-5-1 V-Style, 3N-2-2-2-1 Butterfly

NO 3.> 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow Diamond

It is very impressive formation as it has perfect balance between attack and defense and works with any mentality.

Formation success rate-80% and above.

I have used 4-5-1V in last two season and it really impressed me.You can also switch to narrow diamond against 4-4-2.

You are doing the 4-5-1 V a great injustice calling it a purely defensive formation. It's one of the most balanced and flexible formations ever.

I said it defensive counter attack type not defensive,Its your wish to use attacking with it I am not gona stop you:cool

Theodor when you connects this formation with counter attacks you can't say it is not defensive but still you have problem then god may help you:p

I do not mean to be rude but: what have you won in one year to be able to conclude on what is the best and what is not on every subject all the time ?

Every time I use 4-5-1V I lose .. And I have a good team .. Scout AML/AMR and ST + good DL and DR .. My tactic is atacking, through the flanks , mixed, low pressing , zonal marking. Why is this formation so good for other managers?

Hi sir,
I have defeated many scouts and have seen many players saying to use 4-5-1V and some players even gone for longest un beaten streak with this formation.If it does not work for you that does not mean you are only hater lol

Use 4-5-1v with defensive counter attacks not attacking.
Hard defending does not mean you will not score goals.Defensive meantality allows your player to draw back opponent players from their zone and your player mostly dribble alones to get that space and goals by long ball forward or getting some space.I have even scored 4-1 against team full of scouts during champion league semi final.

LOL I use 3-1-2-3-1 all the time....since season 2...no matter what formation i am facing....

A good manager is that which can use any of formation and make it useful by his tactis and gameplan.If players like gizzmo dont have right tactics and then say this formation is useless,Then we must see manager like Ahlong who manage with 3-1-2-3-1 also.Ahlong really inspire me.So guys works on tactis don't curse formations like others.

That was not my point at all. What I said is that the forum is continuously flooded with your advices on everything that sound that the ultimate truth. How can you know that 4-5-1 V is the most successful tactic ? Have you made a survey based on the billions of games played in the last 5 years ?

Hey gizmo my standard is not that much of playing online games so I don't care even if someone ask me to finish at 12th also.I was fan of you gizmo because you was straight forward and post fearlessly,But I don't know this gizmo.Sorry

How is 4-5-1 looks like? Is it you guys put three MC?
I'm using 4-1-4-1 which include a DMC. So far have mix result

I use 4-2-2-2 hex and have beat 4-5-1v all the time. 4-5-1v is a great formation but sometimes it just doesn't work for everyone. I totally agree with you questioning his post, because I don't think it is the greatest formation on the game.

1. 4-5-1V
2. 4-1-2-1-2 ND
3. 4-3n-3

Honorable mention

4. 4-4-2/4-2-2-2
5. 4-1-2-1-2 Wide Diamond

Well left to me and what I have seen with friends.... 4 4 2 is the best. Not much weakness to exploit. I could be proven wrong though. It just has worked well for me and friends

Guys best formation is 4-5-1v.I don't say that after this post I started poll to prove me wrong.
But which formation won?
Ofcourse 4-5-1v is best formation but you need best squad and tactics.

What 4-5-1(V)? :p

4-5-1(V) is a very predictable and limited formation and the tactics used for this results in 'boring football'. Many of those users here who use this formation have superior quality compared to their opponents. If this formation was so good, then why would there be the need for 6-7 star players to use this formation to win competitions?
Also, the majority of formations and tactics used by users in this game are countered by it,and the majority of users don't know how to counter this formation, which is why it appears superior.

This formation is one of the best counter-attacking formation; there is no doubt about that, but that's it. There is no best formation.

If it does not work for you then it is not good?

Votes does not mean scientific proof. Votes shows the trend of opinions. Also, take into consideration that only a very small fraction (insignificant) of T11 users participated in this. What is there to be jealous of? I did not say anything against your predictions.

I used 4-1-4-1 with Defensive and Counter-Attacking On.. Both fullbacks on forward mode with DMC on retreat mode while the rest are on neutral mode.. So far, rank 1st in League though it might be a very easy league as I just came back to play after a year.. Lol... With 13 games played, I have 13 wins with 59 goals for and 0 goals against.. So it really might be an easy league with bots team or non-playing user teams... :D

You should add the way they counter eachother.
4-5-1V counters 4-1-2-1-2ND
4-4-2 Classic counters 4-5-1V
4-1-2-1-2 ND counters 4-4-2 Classic.

Overall best formations if you ask me.

1.4-V-1
2.3-3-2-1-1
3.3-3-2-2

I'm using 451 v for 8 seasons and I have won 6 title.I'm in level 9 now and I have no doubt that this formation gives me consistency.

But now I'm facing problem to dealing formation like
3(N) 1 3(w) 1 2 against equivalent player.At the starting of the thread you told that 451v is best against this type of formation.

So please help me to find what's going wrong with my tactics.my usual tactics : defensive,long,down both flanks,area covering,low pressing with DMC,RD,LD UP.
Or you can suggest me alternate formation.

I don't know about the other formations, but 4-4-2 is absulotely astounding formation. I went undefeated with it, until i lost to some decent team in probably the most BS match in the history of this game ( had triple the shots on target but lost 1-0). Can you please do screenshots of the third formation to know exactly where to put some of the players.

Do u use high pressing for 451v?

Lol i'm playing one system all the time who wins everything.......dl dc dr-1dmc-1 mc-aml-amc-amc-amr-st attack,short passes without counter attack,(mixed flags,or middle.....check the system of the opposite),normal tacklin,without offside,zone......red lines to aml,amr,amc,amc!!!!!when the start the game look the bar (if the bar for you it's ok if no change the attack playing(mixed,flags,center)!!!!check this and tell me

im a 3-1-4-1-1 man myself dont buy tokens never finished outside top 2 won 2 trebles countless doubles etc [emoji106]

I used 4-5-2-1 and I go through a whole entire season unbeaten so it depends on the training and the person organizing the team

what about the current one, its (all) still the same?

I use a variation of the wm formation so 3-2-2-2-1 worked really well for me as won league and champions league in same season

I have been struggling a lot against 433 or 4213 narrow with 3 STs.. 41221 && formation with 3 defenses didn't work..

Does anyone has a solution?
