Yes 4-5-1v is not much working if ppl use narrow diamond formations.

I have not even faced narrow diamonds since I started experimenting with 4 5 1v

It's not mandatory that 4-5-1V must beat ND

Yes 4-5-1v is not much working if ppl use narrow diamond formations.

I have good history of success 4-5-1v against ND. Like 80-85% winning. However most of the times I am on the stronger side and I must admit it's one of the trickiest formations to beat. Last game I lost 1-0 against ND playing 4-5-1V, but I blame it on luck (or lack of). 67% possession + more shots and they only scored in the 85th minute, when I was pressing higher (exposing my D) to push for the victory.
