4-2n-3w-1
I just saw something unbeleivably stupid. I play this game for about four years but I do not get this.
Formation with only 2mids, 3 W and att???
So with abnormal hole between attack and defense? Who is giving the balls to the attackers? I really do not get that.
Anyhow, I will try to play with 4-5-1- V style and cant wait to see how this will end.
Any idea about this formation?

I played this weekend vs this formation in the FA cup (for the final).
I used in both games 4-5-1V, defense/counter/long pass (I was present only in one of them)
I lost 3-1 and 2-3

So, I 've run out of ideas :p

Well, 4-2-3-1 is the most Balance Formation In Football. Real Madrid had a Perfect players for this formation when Mourinho was their Manager. They really played beautiful Counter-Attacking football at that Time. Here is Tactical analysis Of Jose Mourinho's 4-2-3-1 with Real Madrid.

Forgot to Mention 4-2-3-1 is very popular in Europe. Inter Milan & Bayern Munich won Treble by using 4-2-3-1

But 4-2-3-1 is not most balance formation in top eleven. Lot of managers claim its 4-5-1V( 4-3-3 in Real Football). BTW agree with 4-2-3-1 most balance formation real football.

No DMC? Have an AMC.
He's got an AMC? Have a DMC!
I'd go with 4-1-2-1-2 (Narrow Diamond). Normal mentality, mixed focus or through the middle (change midgame) and mixed passing.
Let us know what you chose and how it went

agree, but the 4231 you talk about is with 2 DM and not NO DM and 2 CM and 3 wings
big difference

The problem IMHO about the 4-2-3-1 in Top Eleven is that the "holding" midfielders as they are known in real life 4-2-3-1 are DMCs, so the space between your DMCs and AMCs is wide, definitely not like in real life, cause you need that anchor in the mid between attack and defense. If you arrange the 4-2-3-1 in Top Eleven just life in real life, those 2 in the mid are placed as MCs, resulting in a big space between your defense and midfield, which again, doesn't happen in real life. The only compromise I can see to play a more realistic 4-2-3-1 in Top Eleven is to have a 4-1-1-3W-1, with a DMC and MC. Something like this:

Hope you guys understood my post.

and not to say that this 4 - 2N - 3W - 1 looks very stupid
just pull back for a spot this AMC to CM team looks much more compact

This formation has no CMs.
There is one rule I can guarantee at TOP 11, if you want dominate the match you must have at least same number of CMs as opponent. As this formtion has no CMs at all, I would chose plaing with less CMs and put more presure in attack in front of those 6 defenders.
I would try 4-3-3
