    4-2MC-3-1 Counter Suggestions

I haven't had much success in the past against this formation. I usually go with 3W-2DMC-3W-2. Just curious as to what other managers would do?

    3W-2DMC-2MC-AML-AMR-ST
also a 4-4-2 ND could do the job

I haven't used the first formation before, I'm intrigued. What mentality, passing style/focus etc. do you suggest?

4-2n-3w-1, is my primary formation. For several seasons, its done well for me. I think that's largely due to attacking midfielders playing well and ST's being meh. From reading this forum, that's the general trend i've gathered. My team also is notorious for having terrible strikers, but outstanding attacking midfielders, so it suits my possession game well.

That being the case, i won't respond with what I run against it. I'll instead respond w/ what I don't run it against.

Formations I don't play 4-2n-3w-1 (my primary) against
    .

    1. 4-5-1V
    2. 4-1-2-1-2 ND (As Nik stated). This can be expanded to include a couple other narrow formations.
    3 3w-1-2n-3w-1 (The nightmare formation)

Those are the big three, i'll abandon it against. Additionally, I wouldn't risk it against your (3w-2n-3w-2) and the Dandelion (3w-2n-3w-1-1).

as mac mentioned, AMs are the most dangerous players (and your oppo has 3 ) so I would start with defense, no offside, some blue arrows to my defenders and strike back with counters taking the risk of long pass as oppo doesn't have DMs.
later, examine the stats or as.manager comments

I ended up going with 3W-2DMC-2MC-AML-AMR-ST with the final score being a tie 2-2, not bad considering they were much stronger on paper.. Thank you for your suggestions.

i found that the formation to beat this was
    DL DC DR
    MC MC MC
    AML AMC AMR
    ST
opposition was 102% mine was 80% won 2-1
    had attacking, mixed, short, off
high, normal, went hard in second half, zonal, offside on
