Help on improving tactic?

With my season ending in Saturday, I've noticed my tactic (in this state) will probably not be cut out for next season. (Level 3)
I usually thrash weak opponents, while drawing and losing against opponents around my level.

I use a 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 with fullbacks pushing up and the the midfielder in the middle dropping down to help defense.
My tactic is based of Barcelona's Tiki Taka, really like how they play.

Anquilis' Tactic (ask if want to use):

Team mentality: Attacking
Focus passing: Mixed
Passing style: Short
Force counterattacks: On (I like fast attacks, don't like playing around with the ball.)

Pressing style: High
Tackling style: Normal
Marking style: Zonal
Play offside trap: On

So, what should I change in my tactic/formation?

Also, whenever I lose, the report almost always say that "Our defense failed to stop the opponent's actions", which I really don't what to do with it. What does it mean to me? What do I have to do to prevent this?

I'd start with figuring out the types of formations your team struggles against. In those losses, can you tell if your opponent was attacking through the middle or flanks? Maybe you have trouble with formations with an amc.

try some defense/counter too

Deffensive, counterattacks and long passes can work very well

Mixed passes can also work

I can't really tell.

Since u have wingers,your passing should be mixed and u cant play shot pass with counter

What if I played down the middle?

With this tactic, I lost 3 - 0 today in the Super League final, I few days ago, I lost the Cup final 4 - 0.

Really need some solid feedback.

If i were you, i wouldnt:
*Play attacking, counter attacks and short passes
*Play attacking with 4 deffenders an 3 DMs
