    3w-1-1-3w-2

I recently posted about the increasing number of managers using 3WAM in their tactics. I faced difficulties against both 4-2-3W-1 and 3W-1-2-3W-1 that were solved with the help of madflo and nik by the impressive 3W-2-2-2WAM-1.
But this season, I faced 4 times the even more offensive title tactic played by 3 different managers either of same quality or weaker than me. And I could not win even once. In 30 seasons of Top11, I've never felt so puzzled. This morning, I was crushed in cup semi-final with 3W-2-2-2WAM-1 after having previously tried 4-4-2ND and the usually deadly 3N-3WDM-2-1-1 with little success.
Have you ever played against this tactic and how did you solve the problem ? (I am only speaking of GOOD oppo, not 20% weaker or inactive managers of course).

Gizzmo, 3W-2-2-2W-1 still works for me against those formations, it even works against 4-1-1-3W-1 or 4-1-3W-1-1. My tactic on those situations is beating fire with fire so if I am not sure about the counter formation I play with the same formation of my oppo and I suggest with this formation always use normal or defensive tactics. 3w-1-1-3w-2s counter would be narrow 4-2(DM)-2-2 although I am not sure and also it is very similar to ND.

I played twice at the weekend vs higher-Q 4-2-3AMW-1 - used 4-5-1V both times, got a 1-0 win at home, 2-2 draw away.

My main problem is against those managers using 2 DMCs...

Roughly 8 of my last 10 defeats (this spans more than 12 seasons) were against 3WAM tactics with 4-5-1V (which is my default choice). So, I am a bit reluctant to try again.

Well, your last suggestion is one of the last "logical" counters I have not tried against this. As I need to take risks for the second leg, I will more likely use a modified 4-4-2 ND like 4-2DMC-1-2AMC-1 short/middle. Or modified 4-5-1V like 4-2DMC-1-2WAM-1 flanks/mixed.

Honestly whenever I play 3 men defence, even with 2DMC, I feel weak. Opposition has many opportunities. 4 at the back is the way to go for me.
