Also, as you level up, 10 points is less and less difference. If in level 1, it's huge! (like 20 vs 30, half again stronger) But in level 5 not as much (like 35 vs 45, a bit over a quarter better)...

I do think in matches where there is a huge gulf in Q between the sides the morale of the players seems to be more affected.
Injuries in this game are always a complaint! I am glad Russ mentioned...
