They last till retirement so yeah totally worth it. Everyone is farming the same number of greens. It's just that some choose to spend it differently. So it isn't a cheat code.

What I have found when I'm playing a significantly weaker team is before the match I try to get rid of the favorites tag so I keep my team within the 20% and it seems to work
