If individual skills really matter in the game engine (which I'm not convinced of) I guess you can't go wrong with speed and passing. "Pass go and shoot" drill all the way!

Not realistic of course. But you can still assess where the player is on his form curve and make some decisions accordingly.

I think it depends on players and maybe on positions. The best is to try and experiment. Played my DR twice as DMR to counter my opponent, in both cases he got the MoM award
