Jaaron Simmons has returned to the Michigan basketball program to finish what he started.

The Wolverines came within one victory of a national championship in Simmons’ lone season in Ann Arbor, but he’s not back for redemption. Instead, Simmons will serve as a graduate manager while working to complete his master’s degree.

The former point guard transferred to Michigan before the 2017-18 season. He'd already spent four years in college, earning his undergraduate degree from Ohio University.

As a graduate transfer, he liked much about the Michigan basketball program, but the school mattered to him too.

"It's a great academic school," he said then. "Having the opportunity to go to one of the top colleges in the country can help set you up for a long time after basketball."

By returning to Michigan, Simmons is backing up that statement.

He came off the bench for the Wolverines two seasons ago, averaging 1.5 points per game for a squad that won a Big Ten Tournament title and reached the national title. Despite not playing as much as he expected, he remained a positive teammate.

Off the court, he took classes towards a master's in social work. It's a process that often takes two years at betboo giris, but Simmons signed with a professional basketball team in Switzerland in June of 2018.

He told MLive on Tuesday that he loves basketball and enjoys being around the Michigan basketball program. The opportunity to complete his degree, though, was a major factor in betboo.

"I looked at the big picture," he said.

Head coach Juwan Howard's staff is now complete. Assistant coaches Howard Eisley, Phil Martelli, and Saddi Washington had previously been announced, as had strength and conditioning coach Jon Sanderson and trainer Alex Wong, both of whom were retained from John Beilein's staff.
