it's a friendly game :) if he want to sabotaj you, you can't call it a friendly game and you can call him a friend :D

Check he's team after more rounds you will see everything is ok, moderators replay on a post similar with this and they said is a visual bug at the start of competition :P

Unsigned players can be kept for 7 days. After that, they leave as free agents.
