So I am coming against a 442 using 1 midfielder pushed up as a ALM, with the strikers to one side.

Exactly, my strikers have 1 shot every 2 games, they constantly just pass the ball back into the MC/DMC. I wish my strikers would at least make an attempt.

So I play 451V with 1 striker up top, I have two main ones, a 5 star and a 6 star one but when the ball comes in they tend to pass the ball back wards to my CM's or CDM
