4-5-1 V-Style made me win the game, result 4:1 :)
I'm facing this formation in half an hour (away match), decided to try 4-5-1 V-Style (normal mentality, both flanks, own half, normal tackle, mixed passing, zonal marking, red arrows on DMC/AML/AMR)....
anyone?
I gonna try 3-2-2-2-1 Butterfly against 4-5-1 V-Style and was thinking of these orders:
offensive mentality
both flanks
pressing whole pitch
normal tackle
short passing
zone defense
no...
Good luck! Please post the result! :)
I would try butterfly 3-2(DML+DMR)-2-2(AML/AMR)-1; as he got 1 ST you only need 3 DC; DML/DMR should mark his AML/AMR; put red arrows on your AML/AMR and attack on both wings.
This formation is very close to 4-4-1-1 (except for the extra DC and the missing DL), so I would go for 3-5-2 Flat or 4-5-1 V-Style:
-------ST-ST----- ________ -----ST-ST-----
------------------...
Just tried the defensive 4-3-2-1 in Cup against a 4-5-1 V-Style opponent (both quality 26,7) which resulted in equal ball possession (51:49), more shots on my side (14:8), less shots on goal (4:6...
Thanks for the tip, dv8r; in lack of a DML I tried a 4-1(DMC)-3W-2 formation (defensive mentality, down both flanks, pressing own half, normal tackle, long passing, zonal marking, counter attack, no...
I tried 4-5-1 V-Style, starting offensive/short, switching to defensive/long after I had scored 1:0, and then to normal when I thought that he got way too many chances. He equalized in minute 90. :(...
Playing a cup match in about two hours (him: lvl 4, quality 23,4; me: lvl 3, quality 26,3) against 4-1(MC)-2(AML/AMR)-3:
---ST-ST--ST---
AML---------AMR
-------MC-------

DL -...
@Potemy, why do you think that 4-3W-1(AMR)-2 would be an illegal formation??
- Goalkeeper (Must be player's natural position i.e. a GK) --> should be
- Some combination of at least 3 defenders...
What did you use? What was the result?
Nevermind, just found the answer in another thread:
4-3N-2(AML/AMR)-1:
-----ST-----
AML-----AMR
--MC.MC.MC--
-------------
DL-DC-DC-DR
Hi everyone,
just don't get it, could anyone please explain the difference between the two formations 4-3N-2(AML/AMR)-1 and 4-5-1 V-Style, as used in the Table of Counter Formations? Isn't that...
