yeah the amount of live sequences does vary.. some matches, not so much happens so less is animated.
I have seen goals in commentary, but they do seem rare.

As always, if it doesn't work try deleting the app's cache and data (you will need to sign in again)
Yes if autoassign was optional, or put points only where selected, I would too.
