It doesn't have to mean more chances, maybe just the game minutes ticking past slower. I had a sub that took place immediately yesterday. :D
Maybe you have to think faster? I agree it could be slower, but I can cope with it at the moment, though subs could happen faster. There's not much room for change since matches are played every 15...
