Recommended counter for 4-5-1 flat is both styles of 3-5-2. That still the case?

It seems it's not the direct counter anymore. I'd go with 4-5-1v then.

After I beat him 7-1 in a friendly so it made it even more difficult. That's why I made a mistake with man to man.

We drew 2-2. Stupidly left man to man on against 3 CMs. He scored once I changed to zonal I scored 2 but he equalised.

I know, don't really have much choice. I'll let you know the trail anyway.

Doesn't matter. Played a friendly against him using 4-2-2-2 and won 7-1
So he played against me changing a striker to CM and I won 0-1

So I should be fine starting with 4-3-2w-1

Bit of advice against this would be appreciated

He favours defensive formations so I know he's lethal on the counter.

Playing 4-3-3 seems the only way to overpower but I don't want...

I have no idea as I've never faced it but it's a very narrow formation with 1 striker.
I would try 3-5-2v or 3-1-4-2

Pretty much the same for 4-3n-1-2 attack and press high.

I didn't see this message in time mate. I lost 1-0 to 3rd from bottom so embarrassing result.
I used 3-2w-2-1-2 and his AMC scored the goal so that's what I get for not watching the match.

Anybody know a counter for 3w-1-1-3w-2?

I'm lining up 3-2w-2-1-2

4-3n-1-2 beats 4-3w-1-2. I've seen it happen in an equal match and I just beat a cup opponent 3-1 and he's a division about me.
