You can try a formation that i used to play in my first 2 seasons, and bring me nice results back there.
3w-2dmc-3w-1-1, or 3w-2dmc-3w-2... you will have nice zonal defence against his am's :)

I've noticed... since i've lost 2:3 home match against much weaker opponent (lol)
4-5-1 has a weakspot playing against 3MC. No matter of possession stats, the opponent seams to have around the same...

I'd play narrow diamond (making his dml,dmr useless) through middle, normal mentality, short pass, counters maybe
