Do not use 4-4-2 classic against 4-4-2 ND. It wont end well. As I always beat 4-4-2 classic using 4-4-2 ND. :)

Against narrow diamond I always play 3n-1-4-2, normal mentality, through both flanks red arrows on ML&MR, normal tackling, pressure own half, zonal marking, no counter or offside trap.

3W-4-3 does not work against 4-1-4-1, please remove it as a counter for 4-1-4-1

I've played 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow diamond against this formation and it works good.

4-5-1V Style did not work, atleast for me it didn't

I play 4-1-2-1-2 ND against 4-4-2 and It works very well.

I'd like to know what to use aswell.

I searched and did not find anything specific about this formation. And I also looked in the counter formation thread before I made this post.

As topic, how do you counter 3N-4-1-2 as 4-5-1V style did not work. I lost the match 2-4 in a CL game. Both team are almost the same in quality on every position and overall. and I had abit more...

Use 4-2dmc-aml-amc-amr-st. Ive used this formation against 3-4-1-2 with good results. Normal mentality, both flanks, short passing, normal tackling, no offside or counter. Gl

I lost 2-1 with this formation. I guess he was lucky because my team played like ****. Missed too many chances etc.

Just watched a match between a player with 3N-2W-2-1-2 vs 4-1-2-1-2 ND. And the player with 4-1-2-1-2 ND lost 2-0. So I do not think ND works.

Have you considered 4-5-1 flat? that way you will dominate the midfield and I would not advise you play with 3 defenders if he palys 3 ST and AMC. It feels abit too risky. From the looks of his...

Ive met 2 players having almost same formation, as the topic.

One of them used 3-2W-2-1-2 as below, I used 4-5-1V and he beat me 3-1 with 50-50 possession and almost same amount of shots.
