What do you guys think is the best tv fiction of past 15 years? The options are just the shows I have seen* that I thought were pretty good. Only including shows that have finished.
Personally I think it was The Sopranos.
*With exception to the Shield, I've only seen a few episodes, but I've heard it's thoroughly good and I intend to watch the whole thing soon.
A tough call betwixt Buffy & House for me.. :D

Anyway Game of Thrones should be in the top too!
House for me but if you could use shows still running The Walking Dead or Greys anatomy !!!!!!!

Where is 'The Big Bang Theory' or 'Two And A Half Men' or 'How I Met Your Mother'??? Maybe u have not included comedies. LOLs. :p And even 'Friends' which is over now.
Coming to serious ones, I think 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Revenge'.
So, I go for others.
House is actually good but others was more tempting.

That bias aside, even for what they are, I just don't think they're that good. The past few seasons of HIMYM have been pretty poor, Ted feels like the friend of the main character instead of the primary agent for whom the show is supposed to be built around, searching for the titular character the show is named after. Barney and Robin have been pretty much stripped of their awesome and watered down so that they work as a couple. While Marshal and Lily went from being an incredibly sweet endearing couple with some depth to this utterly irrational farcial pairing who are just there to create oddball comedy moments. The first 3/4 seasons of HIMYM were awesome, but the show has been steadily treading downwards towards mediocrity for a while now.
As for TBBT, at least HIMYM had the first few seasons, tbbt has never been awesome. It's enjoyable, and charming, but utterly predictable and incredibly formulaic, so obviously well inside its comfort zone with no interest venturing out into unchartered territory.
I don't know if I just wrote an essay or had a ****.

They made some decisions with the show which might be good to hook the average schmo tv viewer, but which had unintended consequences and negatively impacted the show for what I consider not a great benefit.
Having not long ago dusted off The Wire, it is noticeable that there's inauthenticity rife with this show, especially at the start and there's a lack of nuance and complexity. Also like Breaking Bad the show got stronger as it progressed and it became a real rollercaster. The last three seasons were excellent. I absolutely loved the final 2 episodes. If the Wire and 24 had a lovechild it would be The Shield.
Solidly entertaining and a real grower, I'd recommend it.
So I guess next up is Sons of Anarchy, here's hoping it's of similar quality to the shield, or even the Wire.

Recently there was an indian version of 24 starring Anil Kapoor( yes, that guy who played the host of "Who wants to Be a Millionaire" in Slumdog Millionaire)..... And it was such a HIT here!!! Inspired from the original 24 but a totally different storyline and what an amazing acting performance by Anil Kapoor!!!! He is a Bollywood Legend!!!:DQuote:

breaking bad by far, every episode was gold.
Sopranos (rip james gandolfi) & Game of Thrones have had good & bad episodes and so far in my opinion, Game of Thrones is on a terrible form. I don't remember the last episode that left me in suspense and the season opener was terrible in my opinion.
I watched every episode for the walking dead but I don't consider it top 5, I found the season finale terrible even though the producer said it would be amazing, huge disappointment. :mad:

ANYONE that didn't vote for The Wire obviously hasn't seen the wire. Had it been on any other network but HBO and it was on regular TV it would of dominated awards, etc... didn't get as much recognition because it was an HBO program.. Google search it Top Ten Shows of 2000s 9/10 websites have The Wire as number one. Watch it people it is a great show and really really goes in depth about American Politics and what not and crime.. It is also realistic not like CSI or something!

Has to be 24! absolutely AWSOME!!!!!!!!., The wire was good I watched the whole lot on, on demand with sky!, the new Batllestar Galactica is wiered to say the least!, I used to watch Lost but that got just ridiculous.
If I was to name my top 5 it would be as follows.
1 24!
2 Criminal Minds.
3 Bones.
4 Game of Thrones.
5 Silent Wittness.

I've only seen Breaking Bad from that list, so it wins by default. It was pretty good though tbh!
At least there wasn't any stupid programs on it like Grange Hill. Anyone remember Rowland on that program lol!
