Level 4 and some help needed !

I've reached level four fairly easily, now seem to have a problem. All my players have dropped from six to five stars but I can only seem to get players to go up one star per season so how do I get better ? Is it just a case of spend spend and spend ?

What age are your players? Training gains slow down severely after a certain age. You don't have to spend spend spend. But there are many guides on how to find fast trainers.

Players are all between 18-23 really. I didn't mind buying 80 tokens a month but I don't want to get silly. Just wondered how you get players up two stars a seasons to compensate for losing the one
