The Raiders 35T team (Explained)

The Raiders is a Non-token buying team associated with FC Croft.

The purpose of this team is to try & survive without buying tokens, but farming for tokens & using friends to swap packs is allowed.

Updates will occur each week highlighting the ups & downs of the team & progression through each competition, changes in formation & reasons why. Hopefully people just starting will have a better understanding about the game.

So you are given a team what next?

The Squad

We are given a squad that is sufficient to get through the league & progress to the 2nd season. It is up to you to determine what position you will finish? The team will consist of a wide variety of positions & will be quite good at one tactic, it is up to you to work this tactic out & decide if this is the tactic you want to keep for the rest of the season or if you want to change. The results & ratings will give you a good indication as to how your team will perform. Who to keep & who to sleep.

Your team will consist of players ranging in age of 18-32(retirements). You will have at least 1 star player usually a forward or a defender, you will know after a couple of games but a quick check is to look at the squads contract veiw.

The list above gives you the following information. The first 5 players are around the 500k value these players are good trainers & will stay in your squad for at least 6 seasons without any trouble. M Clarke Is the one player that will stand out because of his wage at 8.4K all the others around the 2k mark.
Players with 300k to 120k value are rotation players within your squad & the remainder are not much use & will not sell on the transfer market unless you are really lucky. So to make room for transfers you will need to sack not sell, but sacking is at a cost due to the contract but nothing you cannot handle with your budget.

Once you decide who goes & who stays try to strenthen you tactics & not fill spaces.

After the first few games you should know what your strongest formation is, you need to have back up players to support this formation & use as fewer players to do this as possible so multiple positions are a must. How do you find your back up players?

Don't look on the transfer market for the first 2 days as you will loose all your tokens, wait & then use the quiet periods which I think are afternoon & after midnight, you wont get into too many token wars during these periods. I always use the following rules: never bid on a player that has more than 2 bids on already. Never bid on the phone. Never buy rejects from other players & never bid more than the asking price. Keep this in mind when on the transfer market. You can pick up some good bargains that are worth 500K but are on free transfer so the initial bid will be 1.2K & if you are successful on the only bid it will cost you nothing. Don't go mad & go over your budget as the season going forward can be expensive due to the wages of the new signings.

Training

Train your squad at every opportunity & use friendlies to gain experience, but remember to keep the fitness levels above 60% or you will experience injuries. Select the players that are 18-21 & train them extra at every opportunity but don't use hard training in the first season.

Upgrading your stadium. Here is a list of what your support will be each season.

L1 - 800
L2 - 2,500
L3 - 6,000
L4 - 11,500
L5 - 19,000
L6 - 28,000
L7 - 40,000
L8 - 53,500
L9 - 69,000
L10 - 86,500
L11 - 106,000
L12 - 127,500
L13 - 151,000
L14 - 176,500
L15 - 204,000
L16 onwards - 260,000

So upgrading your stadium in level 1 to amateur (1000) will not benefit you as you will not fill the stadium & your % will not be 5% max. Use the time to build the following:
First Aid - 3 days
Gym - 3 days
Toilets - 3 days
Parking - 3 days
Youth - 3 days this should have your youths spawning in season 2. Then 1st upgrade in season 2 will be the stadium.

Don't waste your red & blue packs

Red packs will recover your players from injury at the following rate.

1 day = 5 packs
2 days = 9 packs
3 days = 12 packs
4 days = 14 packs
5 days = 15 packs max

Red packs - So if you have a player that is injured for more than 4 days it would be beneficial to max the recovery to 14 packs rather than waiting & any player that is 1,2 or 3 days out you should use the squad as a back up.

Blue packs - full recovery of moral only costs 2 packs the bar changes colour when a pack is required so don't use a pack unless needed.

Green - will consume a pack but not required.
Light green - 1 pack
Yellow - 2 packs
Red - 2 packs

The Opposition

As the season starts The Cup is the first competition you will play home & away over 2 days as 128 teams battle it out for a place into the next round. Depending how full your server is the 128 teams will consist of active managers & Bot Robots.

What are BOT Robots? "They are like fly's you can swat them but they keep coming back"

Bot Robots are Nordeus generated teams that fill up the spaces in the server, this allows the game to run due to the lack of active players. The teams are generally set up to play a set formation for the course of the season so should be easy to work out the best formation to beat them, BUT as you begin to play you will find that nothing is that simple.

Day 3 is the start of the League. Nordeus will try to keep any Facebook friend that you have also playing Top 11 & starting at the same time on your server so they should be in your league & may also be in the cup. Friends are very useful for playing friendly matches in your first season as you will have some days where you only have 1 match due to the obvious omission of the Champions League, this you have to earn by finishing in the top 4 of the league at season end.

A good tip is to check out all the opposition in the league & look for the following:

1. Rating.... are they better rated than you?
2. Formation.... Starting formations are a good thing to know because if they are non-active players the formation & the rating will stay the same.
3. Have they got a full squad, generally the teams with a full squad are the ones that change to suit each match.

These three things will give you a better idea as to what formation your team will mostly play during the first season.

I have adjusted the thread heading to a Non-token buying team so people don't get the "wrong idea". If the Mods wish to change the original heading to the same then go for it.

I have already done that but the Hyperlink at the top of the page & the title in the showcase stays the same! I have even gon in to change the element of the thread in java script but still no change. Not to worry though eh. :)

How are the Raiders Doing?

So a week as gone by so I will update how we are doing. The team have settled in quite well & I think we have found some good players from the transfer market that should see us through a couple of seasons.

I still haven't found a formation I am comfortable with but the next couple of days should have that sorted out.

Cup Progress

We have managed to get to the Play Offs in the cup with Agg scores of 6-3 & 8-2, both teams were BOTS

We also mannaged to draw another BOT for the Play Offs

The Hale & Pace Show

The newly formed partnership of Hale & Pace Have shown the manager just what they are capable of doing.

Pace gets a hat-trick with the help of Hale adding 2 assists & also scoring a goal in the process. It was a tough call who would get the man of the match but Pace just edged it with the hat-trick.

A brace from pace & an unselfish show from Hale is totting up the assists as The raiders have one foot into the next round.

The fans at the Raiders Stadium who will now be known as "The Management" have now got a new chant dedicated to the duo.

All the squad are now calling them The 2 Ron's because they are always chattering to themselves before the game saying "Da Doo Ron Ron" "Da Doo Ron Ron". This is what gives them the bond as they psych each other up before every game.

What have we created lol...love it, who would have thought that Hale and Pace would be resurrected:cool:

Well It's the end of week 2

Also after a poor start to the League we have started to find our form thanks to the prolific strikers Hale & Pace who have scored 5 goals & assisted 7 between them & the last three games have all been clean sheets thanks to the new signing Bulgarian star goalkeeper who has played 3 league games & 1 cup & still a clean sheet ((shhhh)).
The 1st & 4th place team play today so a draw would be a great result or even a win for the 4th place.:p

Coming to the end of week 3

The form of Hale & Pace is still showing both in the charts & also in the league. The raiders are now on a 10 game winning streak going into today's game, I'm just waiting for the TROLL to arrive.:p

The Last 3 days of the season

2 things to be proud of are the final of the cup & 3 points clear at the top of the league. So the pressure is definitely on.

Just one point to add on the cup final. The team Park FC was formally known as A.C. Guarded & was taken over on the 14th of this month by a newbie. What a gift being in the final on the 3rd day of playing, he was in charge of the team in the 2nd leg of the semi but probably didn't know much about it. Any way if he is reading this I wish him all the success for the future & I will give him every bit of respect in the final.

Injury Crisis

3 Key players out for the final means we will have to rely on the back up players that I was about to sell, I'm just pleased I left it till now to sell them.
Jackaman out for 11 days - 5 cup goals
Pace out for 4 days - 7 cup goals & 12 assists & 3 MOM
Marsh out for 2 days - 3 cup goals
Lastly 1 red card for Rhodes makes it 3 midfield & 1 attack out for the final. I have enough Red packs for marsh so we will be playing the final at 75% strength.

last 3 games should give me a big chance for the league but with the injuries I will not be building my hopes up.

Cup Result

After getting another injury to Pace in the league game 55' before the Cup game I had no choice but to use some of my tokens to get the players out of jail ready for the final. I managed to farm 10 red packs so only needed to trade 10 tokens.

Thankfully all worth it with a convincing 5-0 win

The celebrations could continue after tomorrow as we can theoretically win the league tomorrow on goal difference if we win. This last game of the season is also against a team who has limited players & lie close to the bottom of the league.
