I met this team (and a 2 more), every latest( in league or CH.L. ) season so as I cannot (and don't want) to compete teams with 8* players, I decided to loose 2 seasons so to avoid them in the future.

Ok, the program was tough - to play 4 games/day in every week end but it was excited too (thanks nordeus for this experience ).

It looks like a new "trick" by the system and not a random, "unlucky" draw.
So, even if I had a strong team from tanking, I didn't make it to pass to semi finals as most of my oppo had same or better quality and i had also this "bad" day with 2/2 ,100% efficiency, in the 2nd leg.

The last days of the season (as usual), I was start selling my players so to keep the "right stuff" for the next season.
The young fast trainers with high q and some low q.
All those high q players are early 7* and the 1* , are less than 1* as they are old 0T academy players for many seasons.

As the target is my 8th treble and not another league, I decided for strategy reasons, not to won the league but get the 2nd position so to avoid a CH.L. with teams +1 lv.
So, near the end of the season, I lost some game on purpose and gave the title to my runner-up and "friend".

Strategy – management – tactics part I
Answering a question of a friend (Al) about if it’s worthy to give sa or extra position instead of quality, I can say few things here where you can see also the roster at the next post.
The advantage of giving extra positions (like DC+DMC+MC, DL-DC+DR, DL-DC+DMC, MC+AMC, ST+AML-AMR, ML-AML+ST ) for me :
1) I can keep a small roster (the basic squad), so I can keep permanently 6 positions for the (less than) 1* players – the 0T academy youngsters , so to lower my quality for the upcoming Cup draw.
I keep those players for many seasons (from 18 y.o. to their retirement) so the q avg of the team, gives me Cup opponents from 2-3 levels bellow.
2) I can do a good coaching during the game as I can switch to any formation without doing any sub.
Also I can switch the players (DC to DR or DC to DMC or from ST to winger) if I see that a player doesn’t performing well.
Or just shaking the tree if I see that the game flow isn’t good.
3) I can find a better position for a player I bought, than his “natural”. As you know, I go for the nordgens the first day of the season but after that, it’s not so easy to find them.
So, if I bought a fast trainer ST but he doesn’t score, he can be excellent as a winger ;) so I rarely disregard in the middle of the season players I bought .
4) I can do a better rotation when I have some loss from cards or injuries (saving some reds too).
5) The players of this small basic roster have more participation in games so the ‘re gaining more and get a higher quality in the end of the season.
6) Also maybe the team has a better “chemistry” as those players have played many games together (but that’s questionable ).
7) When I ‘m buying a defender without sa (if he has a useless sa like penalty specialist or C-K/F-K, I prefer to go for another), I give them “aerial” or “defending wall”.
Those are the perfect sa for defenders and I see them working almost in every game. Sure it’s worthy ;)
Some others like F-K , C-K are questionable and I prefer to give a test before I give them.
8) If I see a fast trainer (or a simple player) with sa, I prefer to go for him even if I don’t know that his sa is “working”.
Those players with extra roles or sa it’s very easy to sell them the last 1-2 days of the season so to be ready for the next Cup draw.
The managerial plan of the team is to have/get 8 fast trainers + 6 very low q players the first day of the season. Then I buy some new fast trainers to replace the guys who ‘re getting older and gonna be sold at the end of the new season.
Then I also buy some 5* nordgen or veterans doesn’t matter as they ‘re gonna be sold also at the end of the season.
I don’t give quality sp to those 5* veterans because if they ‘ll be _0 or _5 6* players, it’s not gonna be easy to sell them.
So I add an extra role or a sa and keep them as 5*.
The 5* fast trainers, besides their new sa or role or both, at the end of the season can easily reach the 7* (I mean without many extra sources).
If I would go only for the q, after the 7*, the would need much more greens to improve.
Then, the next season they are 5* or early 6* and they start gaining a lot as their quality (stars) dropped from the next lv promotion.
Doing this circle, doesn’t need so many greens.
Only some seasons when I ‘m tanking, I keep many nordgen or train some to late 7*.
Tanking from time to time is a good strategy to save extra sources and develop more your nordgen.
An extra role and a sa need about 100 greens for a fast trainer.
As I buy 18 y.o. players and keep them for 4-5 seasons, that means 20 extra greens per season.
So, it’s not so big the number but still needs extra sources (farming or buying).
The high quality doesn’t make a player good performer too.
As Khris wrote somewhere and I agree, a 6* player can deploy almost all his talent in the field. If a ST of 6* can’t perform and scores, if make him 7* or 8* I don’t think (and didn’t see any example so far) he ‘ll start scoring.
Only if you have a super team of 8*-9* players, with their high quality can dominate the games and get higher rates.
A 6* players team was good enough for me so far, to win many titles (doubles and trebles).
When I found some 8* teams, I fought as I could but as they were active players too, I stayed in the same level as I had to face them in every season.
I didn’t have the sources to make my team 8* too and even if I could, the result would be doubtful.
You can see previous posts from older seasons and finals and see what I mean.
The next seasons, for me, the target is to win 3 more trebles and get the lv3 Treble achievement (win 10 trebles).
After that, I ‘ll see what will be the next challenge.
So, if you have extra sources, yes it’s worthy .

As I said, usually my 6* players have enough quality to move on and go for the finals and the titles.
But I don’t count to luck for this.
I ‘m doing specific strategic movements.

For the CH.L., in previous season I had a tough draw, playing with teams +1 lv, so I lost the 1st position of league on purpose, to have an easier CH.L. draw this season and I did it.
I ‘m in a CH.L. where all the teams are from positions 2-4 and they don’t have so much strong teams.
Also in the league, last season I sold a player with negotiations.

It was weak, with old players, bad finance and low q facilities, so I send him friend request.
This season we ‘re playing together (as the friendship is a priority in the league).
Also the other teams aren’t strong and the title was secure 99% from the first day.

- Players in the red box gonna stay as they ‘re young fast trainers (7 players).
- RONALDO also gonna stay as he is a super star and he still gaining a lot even for his age.
- The players in the orange box, also gonna stay as they are the (lower than 1*) players I keep for the Cup draw.
- Thamnidis is getting retired so it’s only the other six.
Players who I ‘m gonna sell the last days.
- Georgiev , a veteran defender. I keep him in 5*
- Sahia, the GK (usually I don’t keep GKs). Also keep him as 5*
- Danillo, the 21 y.o. defender (as my defense is set with 4 young players)
- Douglas, the 22 y.o. Winger –ST. I already have 3 wingers- ST who I can rotate.
During the season, I ‘ll decide if I ‘ll keep DUNGA or HERNANDES, who are 21 y.o. and next season the ‘ll slow down in gaining or COUTINHO, a 18 y.o. fast trainer.
He needs extra greens but I ‘ll wait to see his performance in the field too.

Niko, doesn't feel like "cheating" when keeping 1* players to fool the game engine that your squad is weaker just to get lower lvl opponents in the cup?
Top Eleven it’s a strategy/managerial game based on Football.
There is no “sportsman” spirit here. You just making tactics to have an advantage and fulfil your goals whatever are they.
There are many ways to play the game or to set your targets.
As I ‘m an old school player and started playing Tomb Rider in PS, it’s the difference between clicking Square/Triangle/Circle/R1/R2/Circle/Circle and Lara was invulnerable or got unlimited ammo and when Lara could climb in a rock and shot from there some dinos without they could reach and harm her.
As I chose to go for the treble, I ‘m following this tactic.
It’s not so easy as it looks as you have to do also with League opponents (playing in leagues were all my opponents had the same quality) or in CH.L. were half the oppo are +1 level .
Also needs clever managerial moves and playing with a very small roster. And of course a lot of concentration, watching your games and luck too.
But I had some success without dropping the quality (finishing the season with a 5*-6* players team) and playing vs opponents from above levels, with better q teams

So, I completed this challenge too.
If you ask my opinion , I prefer a more “equal” draw and I made suggestions about that (I agree with the suggestion to count only the stars per level, like association matches).
Till then, I ‘ll swim with the flow and I ‘ll keep searing my experience and knowledge with other members of the forum so to have their own success too.

No nordgen the first day so I bought some experienced players with s.a. and 2 guys with extra roles, Sharp and Hachani, very useful for rotation and keep a small "active" roster.
As i started with 8 high q players and 6 1*, the Cup draw was good, the CH.L. draw is with teams of my level and the league doesn't have any "monster" teams.
So, it's a good opportunity for another treble.

Ronaldo, the star of the team couldn't help at all. Maybe my mistake was that I used him almost in every game (with the purpose to break the record of the goals in history of the team).
Another impressing thing was that my players get caught many times in off side trap. Never happened before.
Of course oppo manager was very good, I knew him from previous seasons, also played in the same league one season.
To bad from a bad performance to miss that opportunity for the treble :(
