I believe the whole season and then it gets deleted when the new season starts but someone should confirm this.
It will usually appear on your squad list if they are one yellow card away from a match ban. Highlighting over it will show you for what competition it applies to.

newbie question.. when you sell (or buy) a player do their yellow & reds come with?

i hope so, selling a guy that has red in league & yellow in Cup & CL
yellow stays until either another yellow resulting in one game ban and then back normal ( no card showing) or new season start`s, with yellow and reds on selling player`s i should think the same as selling injured player`s when oppo buy`s he goes to no cards involved same as no injury
edit, if you get an injury near end of season it will carry over to new season unlike any cards you my have
