How to determine left/right foot?

How can I find out what foot my player prefers on my iPhone?

I would disagree with that thought.

I have a striker who scores loads of goals for the team when he is in the Left side of the 3 striker positions, but put him in the Right striker position and he can't hit a barn door from 3yds.

I believe it's worth finding out which foot your players play best with and play to that strength.

How you find out - 'trial and error' has worked for me.
